Presence vs Intentional Distraction
Being present is key for a happy and successful life, right? But I think I have been doing it wrong.
I thought I needed to be present all the time. Now I try to be more selective and intentional. Because I don't have enough energy to be present all day and night.
I just had these thoughts during lunch... and I started wondering: How can I intentionally be mindless and distracted?
Maybe that's why people watch shows and scroll on their phones. They need a break from being present. But most people don't relax with intention. That's a problem.
How do you "check out" on purpose? And when are you fully present?
"Präsenz statt Perfektion" (Presence over perfection) is something I’ve been telling myself in the past few weeks when it comes to taking care of the baby. It has helped me feel less tense and worry less about doing everything right.
But I’ve also realized that I can’t be fully present with the baby all the time. That's where these thoughts started.
